Ruffled Helix

One of the harder things about making sculpture is naming pieces. When first considering and drawing this piece I was thinking about some sort of DNAish Helix-y sort of name, and studio assistant Taylor immediately piped in “It’s a potato chip . . . you know, like a ruffle.” Hence the name. In mirror polish stainless steel, Japanese ball bearings and automotive adhesives.
